Coastal Kids Quiz Bowl...
Kenny tried out and made it on the Alabama Coastal Kids Bowl team for Hutchens Elementary school!
After months of preparation the team was ready for the tournament!
Taking a quick break to review their notes!
Kenny's team won all four of their rounds and placed 4th in the competetion!
Posing with their announcer...WKRG Weatherman!!!
Welcoming baby Noa...
After a very long day of field trips to New Orleans, YW activities, and school we couldn't resist a midnight run to the hospital to meet Baby Noa! We bribed the mom and dad by saying we would come armed with Wendy's frostys and french fries! I knew it would do the trick!! hee hee!
Our dear friends moved here several years ago with the Coast guard when we first met them. We've seen them through the long distance dating, the engagement, the wedding and now the birth of their first baby this week! We had so much fun visiting with them and enjoying their newborn baby! Its been many many years since we've had the opportunity to be around such a tiny little baby! In fact, this we realized was Jessica's very first experience!
At the hospital Kenny was a natural! Jessica was a bit hesitant to hold baby Noa but we later found out it was because she was so worried she would "squish" him!
I can't wait to be a grandma!!!! Doesn't Lisa look like a natural? Oh well....I guess I can wait a few more years right?!
Baby Noa has no problems being the center of attention!!! And we love it!
Doggy vets and pet piggys....
We took Tux in for his third set of shots today. They were the first set for us so we were a little anxious! We tried to make his morning as comfortable as possible knowing exactly what lay ahead for him. He had no idea what was coming!
Being in new places makes Tux a bit nervous. He wasn't sure where he was but we think he had a clue something was up! He couldn't figure out what kind of "bed" this machine was! (PS He gained one pound since we got him!)
When the vet entered to administer Tux's shots we were both taken back by what we saw through the door! So much so that I knew I had to get a picture!!!
Even Tux was a little confused!!!
But there it was! Plain as day! A pet piggy wandering the halls of the vet office! Who knew????
Three musketeers and an admirer...
Jessica and her two best friends from school at their last honors program assembly! If you look closely at the background above the middle girl's head you'll see the boy who has had a crush on Jessica for the past two years! Every holiday or special occasion he gives her a special "something"! I'm so excited I finally have a picture of him! (Of course I was never able to get a 'real' picture of him because Jessica said that would be way tooo embarrassing!) Yay! For finally being able to document Jessica's first crush!!!!
Spring is in the air....
We had our annual Spring Fling at the elementary school this month! Lots of games, food, and fun for all ages!!!
Kenny's main goal this year was to win a 2 liter bottle of soda at the ring toss! I told him I could just go buy him one at the store but he just looked at me as if I were crazy and said, "Its not the same mom."
It was a good day for Kenny at the ring toss! He walked away a very happy winner!
Jessica's Teacher Date...
At our annual Silent Auction we bid and WON a Teacher date for Jessica! She spent the afternoon with Mrs. Fadeji at the movie theatre to watch Monsters vs. Aliens and had an ice cream at Marble Slab with four other lucky 3rd grade students who won Teacher dates with their teachers! After the date Mrs. Fadeji gave Jessica a ride home so she could see our new puppy! What a fun way to spend the afternoon!
