Date "night" with Arnold...

Some weeks Arnold I have to be somewhat creative with our date "nights" to make sure we get in enough "alone" time with each other! So this week our date "night" turned into a date "afternoon" where we spent lunch at a fun Hibachi restaurant in Ocean Springs, MS called Saki and shopping at the Outlet mall in Gulfport. All in enough time to make it back home to pick up the kids after school for bus carpool!

Meeting up with my old personal trainer from Health Quest at Chevron while in Mississippi was a fun treat for us! We hadn't seen Eddie in over a year! The look on his face when he realized it was me was priceless! He couldn't believe how different I looked! But he said he always knew I had it in me! I remember going to work out with him at the gym and complaining the entire time I was there. Telling him how much I hated to exercise and the whole time he would just smile and tell me it will all be worth it in the end. The life lessons I learned from Eddie while training under him proved to be invaluable and to meet up with him again was a fun way to thank him for all his persistence and hard work!

Update on our puppy...

Its been several months since we brought home our Easter weekend puppy "Tux" and we have had so much fun with him! We cannot get over how big he is now compared to when we first brought him home with us! He has certainly been a good friend to Jessica, a fun playmate for Kenny, and a cuddle bunny for Lisa Nicole. Don't tell her I told you that though. She'll totally deny it...

Decorating for another Trunk or Treat...

Friends of ours asked us to come and help out with their church's annual trunk o' treat! What a fun way for us to spend the evening! Decorating their "trunk", painting pumpkins, and handing out hundreds of beads, glowsticks, and other goodies!

Jessica's Halloween night of fun...

Jessica was invited over to a friend's house for some Halloween fun! Made it a perfect way to spend the evening trick o' treating and enjoying each other's company!

Ward Chili Cook off and Trunk o' Treat...

A Honor roll and perfect attendance...

Jessica received A honor roll and perfect attendance for the 1st quarter of the school year! Arnold was off so we both attended the assembly! We are so proud of our Jessica!

Young Women In Excellence Program...

Once a year our young women group puts on a program to highlight all the things the YW did throughout the year for Personanl Progress. This year we chose a football tailgate theme and decked out the cultural hall with sports memorabilia! We even used blue painters tape to "draw" a football field on the floor of the gym! During the program we ate Tailgate food, played football "games" and participated in a cheer competition. Our family chose Knowledge for our Value Cheer and did pretty good for being a non-athletic type family. We probably won't win any trophies but we made a decent showing!

Building strong foundations...

We recently had the missionaries over for a very fun Family Home Evening activity and dinner. Kenny was in charge of the lesson and he talked about building strong foundations. He had all of us put together towers made out of marshmallows and toothpicks then placed them in a pan of sand to see if they could withstand the tossing and turning similar to an earthquake! What a blast it was to see what everyone came up with!
